Since the first of May 2011 Carlo Wijnands is programme director of Amsterdam International Fashion Week. During this week, from the 13th until the 17th of July he was really present being an excellent host, always smiling and taking care of a lot of items and not taking a moment of rest. He is only working 10 weeks for AIFW but gave a good first impression. He is having a lot of plans (read about it in dutch) to make AIFW more known out of the Netherlands so I am looking forward to the 16th AIFW.

Wijnands has been active since 1990 in the fashion industry, where he focuses on advising and guidance of designer labels and young fashion talent. As Program Director he is responsible for managing the scouting and selection of commercial fashion labels and fashion talents presented during the biannual editions of the Amsterdam International Fashion Week. He will also be involved in the further development of the Amsterdam International Fashion Week activities at international, national and regional levels.
